An independent, volunteer team of citizen leaders are committed to completing the work of Lonoke’s Strategic Action Plan by Lonoke’s 150th Anniversary in the year 2022.

The recently concluded IDEAS phase of our work together, known as “Kick Start Lonoke,” was facilitated by an Executive Committee of local leaders, with guidance from the University of Central Arkansas Center for Community and Economic Development and the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service.

Many of the same local volunteers that guided the Kick Start Lonoke process have re-invested their time and effort as members of the volunteer Executive Committee that is now launching our next phase of work together.

Your neighbors Anna McClung, Alice Bridges, Evelyn Bryant, LynAnne Ivy, Tiffany Hunter, Valena Washington, Lloyd Shephard, Walls McCrary, Gene Eagle, Karen Dill, Hannah Harris, Suzette Elmore, Gina (Cox) Wiertelak, Dianna Bowen, Trae Reed, Michael Florence, Jason Dorsey, Gary Elmore, Adam Starks, Rick Pennington, and Ryan Biles have volunteered to form the volunteer Executive Committee and lead this work in a transparent, inclusive, respectful, accessible manner.

PARTNERSHIP will continue to be the key to the achievement of these goals.  Creative thinking will still be required, as our focus moves from generating the initial IDEAS for the plan’s goals toward the IMPLEMENTATION of these goals, and the strategies to complete them.

The volunteer Executive Committee is fortunate to have the partnership of the Lonoke Chamber of Commerce, which formed three standing committees: Downtown Lonoke Support Committee, Community Marketing Committee, and the Real Estate Promotional Committee, that will function as Action Teams to address these three areas of the Strategic Master Plan.

The volunteer Executive Committee understands that the Strategic Action Plan contains a VISION FOR THE FUTURE OF OUR COMMUNITY that was successfully defined by the intergenerational participation of citizens from all neighborhoods of Lonoke.

The women and men of your volunteer Executive Committee envision a bright future for our town.  In 2022, we will celebrate five years of successful IMPLEMENTATION and evaluate our progress in view of the next stage: INVESTING in the sustainable achievements that we will have accomplished together.
